Design about Brooklyn

In this assignment, I have to use the templates of coffee mug and shopping bag from Photoshop and resign it in order to reflect something about the Brooklyn Museum or Brooklyn.

Requirements:

Should reflect Brooklyn and the arts.

Typography should be custom made by you and have a graffiti feel.

Colors should be vibrant and modern.

I use the coffee mug template from Photoshop, and I use the wonder wheel image from an online source. I first used the selection tool to select the wheel, and then copy and paste into the template and replaced the original logo. Then I use the warp from the transform to adjust the shape in order to let it fit in the mugs, then I use the invert tool through Image -- Adjustments -- Invert or Ctrl+I to change the color of the wheels in order to make it contrast with each other and with the mugs under them, but then I found out when replacing it, it’s better to use the replace color from adjustments, since it’s more flexible. After that I use the brush tool with different colors to place some dots thus making them look like they were sprayed with some vibrant colors. Then I put the text on the mugs, I use the blending option to adjust some changes such as placing double strokes around the text and gradient overlay to make the color gradually change. Then I convert them into the shape so I can use the warp in the transform to make them fit in the mugs and I also change the blending mode from normal to multiply, all of these are just making them look smooth with the mugs.

shopping bag

I use the bag template from Photoshop, and I use the image of the Brooklyn Museum from an online source, I just selected it and copy and pasted, then replaced the original text on the bag. Then I place a blue ellipse shape under the building, and use the radial blur on it to make it like a ray that emphasizes the building. Then I put the text on the bag with double stroke with inner black and outside dark blue, gradient overlay with balck to white and texture. Then I use one of the brush in brush tools that will place some leaves on the object.
